Binding worn and edges bumped. Inner joint and first title with repair. Text with some stains and ink marks. Fly leaf and title with old signatures: Joh. August Lagergren, Joh. D. Moorell, J. P. Norell. With printed dedication to the Duke of Sully. Ramsay (1686-1743) was born i Scotland but lived most of his life in France where he served James Francis Edward Stuart and the Jacobite claime to the English throne. He made friends with François Fénelon and converted to catholicism. 'Les Voyages de Cyrus' is regarded one of his most important works, and was published in London in 1728 and first in Paris 1727.
