How composers of differing temperament have dealt with the restrictions inherent in film music, as well as its opportunities, is illustrated by many references to and extracts from particular scores, and by special analyses of sections from the scores for Henry V, Louisiana Story, odd Man Out and Julius Caesar. Special sections of the book deal with recording procedure and with the work of the musical director.
