In at the DEEP END – Cooking with Fish – Venice to Tokyo

Häftad bok. Quadrille Publishing. 2011. 224 sidor.

Nyskick. –– ABSOLUT NYSKICK förutom mindre hörnmärken! – Se fler bilder! –– For as long as Jake Tilson can remember he has always been scared of fish. Mysterious ice-laden market stalls have been sidestepped and intimidating seafood recipes left safely on the shelf, while the few occasions he has attempted to cook it have met with disaster. • In at the Deep End sees the award-winning artist, designer, writer and cook finally overcome his last culinary taboo by travelling the globe on a quest to buy, prepare and cook fish and seafood. An evocative, marvellously layered and wonderfully illustrated exploration of Jake's many experiences with fish, this delightful food memoir and recipe book catalogues his journey from fish-phobic to seafood obsessive. • Whether cooking mussels in Sydney or sprats in Sweden, visiting the fish markets of Tokyo or snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, Jake's unquenchable interest in every aspect of the sea and fish cookery is unstoppable. His acute eye and enticing culinary experiments and recipes make In at the Deep End a book to be read, savoured, used and, above all, enjoyed. / "His journey across the World goes from Venice, Tokyo, Sweden, Scotland, New York, Sydney, London and the Great Barrier Reef. Along the way he describes the seafood and fish recipes that he liked. All the ideas and recipes are relatively simple and do not use complicated or difficult to find ingredients. Just like Jake, I too have a total aversion to cooking fish, so found the recipes I have already tried, easy to prepare and serve. The sauces I have tried, are also delicate to the taste and do not try to over empower the fish taste, distracting from the fish itself.

• The book is quite unique as it is all the product of one man's work, photo's, travelogue, recipes and graphic design. If you are into fish and seafood this book is an absolute treat and well worth buying. Whilst I have not tried every recipe, the ones I have tried have been easy to prepare and taste great. The design and layout may detract some readers from what are great recipes.

• Highly recommended." –– GLÖM INTE ATT TITTA PÅ ALLA MINA ANDRA BÖCKER! –– Samma fraktpris oavsett hur många böcker du beställer! (Gäller inom Sverige)
