Edited by Angus Calder with a short biography on Dickens (4 pages), an introduction (19 pages) and notes on the text (2 pages). In the notes on the text, the editor submits his view on the first edition (1861) and the final changes of it, which he has closely compared to the 1868 edition. --- Front cover worn with creases. Owner's name on the inside of the front cover. Price tag on the inside of the back cover. Back cover lightly soiled. The biographical part has 3 occasions of ink underlining on the first page, and some small ink doodle on the 3rd page. The first few pages of the actual text, after the preliminaries, there's a couple of pages with pencil underlining of a few words. Page 39/40 with a straightened dogs-ear. After that, contents are very good, only lightly age toned.
