Frederik Markham i Rusland eller De unge Reisende i Czarens Land
Inbunden bok.
Hyggligt skick. Note that the text in the book is in Gothic lettering, just like the covers. Childrens book, or as an other seller put it: "Fictionalized travelogue for young readers", translated to Danish by P.V. Grove. Original title: Fred Markham in Russia (1858). Fr. Waldike, Kjøbenhavn 1859 (most likely the first Danish edition). 219 pages + 4 (stiffer paper) plates with black and white sketch drawings in publishers original hardcover. --- The 150+ year old covers are a bit soiled and hinges show cracking. Around head and tail of spine the hinges has tears of various lengths. Most notably is the tear on the spine head / front cover side, where the hinge tear is roughly 5 cm. Despite cracking and tears the covers stick to the spine - they are fragile, but not on the verge of falling of. Cover edges are alittle worn, mainly the front cover edges. Pages are remarkably clean and bright. There is underlining on some pages, but it's mainly single words and only in pencil, making it less of a problem should one want to remove it. Owners name on pastedown (Edvin Pålsson, 1967), and gift inscription with the name of another, earlier owner on flyleaf (Ludvig Herlöv(?), given by Paule Agnes(?), christmas eve in 1863). A fairly scarce title, and even more unusual in publishers original binding. Measure (base x height): 12 x 18 cm.
