The Seton Ballad : A True Story in Verse and Pictures of Mother Elizabeth Seton

Inbunden bok.

Gott skick. [Format: 20 x 27,5 cm.] Wellington Printing Company, St. Louis (without year). Copyright 1944 (Mother Seton Guild, Greensburg, PA.). Imprimatur: Hugh C. Boyle, Bishop of Pittsburgh. October 12, 1944. (VII) 61 pages in original blue cloth hardcover with silver imprinted text to front board. Letters "B S" in white on spine - unknown origin. The book is richly illustrated in black and white and with a glossy paper frontispiece in color. Author's dedication on title page, dated 1945, most likely to Pope Pius XII, even though the dot over the "i" in "Pius" is misplaced. It is undoubtedly the author's hand-writing. See picture. (The author also sent a dedicated copy (with text similarities) to president Franklin D. Roosevelt.) The book later belonged to Marymount International School. There's stamps with that exact text, and also with the text "Marymount Junior School Library". Stamps are found on the flyleaf (both), page 33 (2nd stamp), last (blank) page (1st stamp) and on the inside of the back board (2nd stamp). On the inside of the back board there's also a pocket with 2 library book lending cards. --- Spine ends are bumped and boards are rather soiled. Corners are slightly bent. Contents are somewhat age toned. Pages are mostly clean with traces of handling in a small-medium extent, but there are a few exceptions. Light smudge marks in the foot margin of the frontis. On page 5 there's a few lines drawn in ink (by mistake, by the looks of it) along with brown-red/black smudge. Page 7 has a few ink dots. Page 11 has a couple of light smudge marks.
