Ed Wood is based on the stranger-than-fiction life of Hollywood's worst director. Johnny Depp (From "Sleepy Hollow") plays the eccentric 50's Hollywood B-movie director Edward D. Wood Jr. in this, one of the most acclaimed collaboration between Depp and director Tim Burton (Batman, Planet of the Apes).

Depp gives a funny, powerful performance as a man whom despite constant, rejection and derision was undyingly optimistic and enthusiastic about his work. Wood created some truly abysmal films using feeble budgets, cringe worthy scripts and ageing, drug-addicted former Hollywood stars such as Bela Lugosi (Oscar winning Martin Landau - Rounde,~) In funny yet moving scenes Burton recreates the making of Plan 9 From Outer Space - Woods' most dire film.

Burton delves deep into Wood's oddball life, exposing his love of dressing in women's clothes and introducing some of Wood's fascinating friends along the way. Ed's kooky girlfriend, Dolores Fuller (Sex in the Citys Sarah Jessica Parker), wan nabe transsexual Bunny Brecken ridge, (Bill Murray - The floyal Tenenbaums) and sultry Kathy O'Hara (Patricia Arquette - Bringing out the Dead) all add colour and spice to this unique film.
