Field Guide to the Birds of North America.
Häftad bok.
Mycket gott skick. Washington, National Geographic Society, 1996 (2nd edition, 8th printing). 464 pages of which half are full page illustrations with a few birds on each illustrated page. The birds are often drawn flying aswell as sitting on a branch or on the ground. Illustrations are detailed and meticulously drawn by several different artists who are listed in the end of the book. On the text pages there are also illustrations in the margin; maps showing the spread of a certain species. --- The covers are in very good shape, laminated for protection. Contents are bright and clean. Overall a very nice copy. Measure (base x height): 13 x 20 cm. --- A review (with unknown origin): "Open to anywhere in the 443 pages of birds and you'll find a color plate to the right, showing all the variants of color and plumage (including breeding and immature birds, when different). And on the left, a paragraph summary of the species, with a map of the bird's natural range. You can see at a glance how the great egret has black legs, differentiating it from the white great blue heron with its yellow legs, and how the cattle egret blushes red in the legs and bill while breeding. What an excellent guide for bird watchers and bird lovers."
