Gott skick. Libraire de Baumgaertner, Leipzig 1851. (XII) 363 pages + 7 fold-out plates (mainly maps) in a contemporary half-leather. The skin parts have been coated for preservation purposes. The maps - made out of strong double layer materials (backside feels more like cloth than paper) - are partly colored to mark out certain areas or routes etc. The illustrations throughout the book are in black and white, apart from one plate showing color nuances. Frontispiece (with tissue guard): an illustration of a mother and a daughter (unknown origin). --- The outer parts of the books are in really good shape considering the age, even thoguh the corners have been dented a few times, and are now clearly bent inwards. Foxing throughout the book, but to a much higher degree in the preliminaries and the end sections. Most pages (in between) are with light or very light foxing, and some with none at all. Apart from the foxing, contents are in good shape and binding seems solid. Measure (base x height): 16.5 x 23.5 cm.
