U.S. Self-Propelled Guns – in action

Häftad bok. Squadron/Signal Publications. 1999. 50 sidor.

Nyskick. –– ABSOLUT NYSKICK! – Obet. hörnmärken på omslaget. – Format ca 28x21 cm. – Se fler bilder! –– "Although the M-3 Grant/Lee tank was obsolete before it ever saw battle, it did provide an excellent chassis for other important armored artillery vehicles that could keep up with tanks. The M-7 (105mm), M-12(155mm), M-40 (155mm), M43 ( 8"howitzer) as well as the M-8 (75mm Howitzer ), M37 (105mm) and M-41 (155mm ) self propelled guns are reviewed here. Even the British 105mm version (Sexton) is included. All were open top vehicles which limited crew protection, but were effective means of providing mobile artillery support. Although that's a lot of ground to cover in a short book, there are photos of the interior of each vehicle and plenty of photos showing these guns in all types of terrain and weather.

This book follows the In Action series format, 48 pages of narrative, B&W photos supplemented with line drawings to show the difference between each version. There are two pages to show color schemes and also very helpful. The photos are crisp, clear with helpful captions showing the tank from every angle and under all conditions.

This is a great book for modelers, armor buffs who want to see some of the important support vehicles that helped pave the way for the tankers. US Artillery was a very significant contributor to Allied victory, one branch of the Army that was feared and respected by the Germans. This book helps show why." –– GLÖM INTE ATT TITTA PÅ ALLA MINA ANDRA BÖCKER! –– Samma fraktpris oavsett hur många böcker du beställer! (Gäller inom Sverige)
